You can get pages indexed without a sitemap by making sure every page is linked from other pages on your site, then requesting indexing for the URLs that matter. Indexly's Auto-Crawl Domain option automates this: it crawls your site's internal links from the homepage, checks each URL in Search Console, and requests indexing where needed.
No. Google discovers most pages by following links from pages it already knows, and a sitemap is an extra hint on top of that. Small, well-linked sites often do fine without one. A sitemap is still quick to create and worth having when you can, but plenty of sites have none, or one that hasn't been updated in months, and still need their pages checked and requested.
Without a sitemap, internal links are how Google finds your pages, so check these before anything else:
Auto-Crawl Domain builds the URL list for you, then runs the usual check and request steps. The other controls work as described in How It Works.
Go to the URL Inspection page for the property. Indexly's button appears next to the "Inspect any URL" box.
Indexly crawls the property's pages from the homepage, following internal links. You'll see the total URL count before anything starts.
Choose a delay range between URLs and, if you want one, a daily cap on indexing requests.
Indexly skips URLs its own records already show as indexed. For the rest it runs the live check, records Google's reason when a URL isn't indexed, and requests indexing.
Download the Excel report with the URL, status and remarks for every URL.
| Situation | Use | Why |
|---|---|---|
| No sitemap, or a stale one | Auto-Crawl Domain | It finds pages by following your site's own internal links. |
| A specific list of new or priority URLs | Excel / CSV upload | Only the URLs you list are processed. |
| An up-to-date sitemap | Sitemap URL | Fastest way to load every URL you already maintain. |

Yes. Google mainly discovers pages by following links. A sitemap is a helpful hint, not a requirement, and small, well-linked sites often do fine without one.
An orphan page has no internal links pointing to it. Google may never find it by crawling, so link to it from relevant pages that are already part of your site.
No. It starts from the homepage and follows the property's own internal links, which makes it useful when a site has no sitemap or only a stale one.
No. It stays on the property you're working in and skips anything off-site.
